No tracking stack

There is no analytics library on this website, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no social widget, no consent-management vendor and no third-party script of any kind. Nothing is loaded from another domain — not fonts, not images, not maps, not video. Every page is plain HTML and CSS served from this site alone. As a result, no cookie is set by us and none can be set by anyone else through us.

What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later requests, which is how sites recognise a returning visitor. Local storage and session storage are related browser facilities that hold small values without sending them automatically. All three are commonly used for two very different purposes: remembering a genuine preference, and following people between sites for advertising. This site uses none of them for either purpose.

The notice at the foot of the page

The cookie notice you may have seen is dismissed by a purely visual mechanism built from HTML and CSS — a hidden checkbox that the Accept control ticks, which hides the bar for as long as that page is open. No cookie is written, no storage key is set, and no request is made to any server when you press Accept.

There is an honest consequence of that design, and we would rather state it than hide it: because nothing is remembered, the notice will appear again when you open a different page or return later. It is a disclosure, not a consent record — there is nothing to consent to, since no tracking exists on this site.

No third-party cookies

Because no external resource is embedded anywhere on this site, no third party is in a position to set or read a cookie while you are here. No advertising network, data broker, analytics provider or platform learns that you visited, which page you read, or how long you stayed.

No advertising or measurement pixels

We carry no advertising and run no campaigns, so there are no conversion pixels, no remarketing tags and no attribution parameters. We do not measure clicks, we do not build audiences, and we have nothing to sell you — there is no booking path and no gambling service on this site at any point.

No analytics scripts

We do not know how many people read these pages. That is a real editorial cost — we cannot tell which reviews are useful — and we accept it, because the alternative is to watch our readers in order to improve at writing for them. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server request logs for security and reliability; those are technical records held by the host, not analytics, and they are described in the privacy policy.

Clearing your browser storage anyway

If you would like to clear cookies and site data from your visit here, or from anywhere else, the controls are in your browser rather than on this site:

• Chrome or Edge — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Delete browsing data. Choose cookies and other site data.
• Safari — Settings, then Privacy, then Manage website data. On iOS, Settings, Safari, Clear history and website data.
• Firefox — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and site data, then Clear data.
• Any browser — a private or incognito window discards cookies and storage when you close it.

You can also block cookies entirely and this site will work exactly as it does now, since it never needed them.

Do-not-track and global privacy signals

We honour these by default in the only way that means anything: there is nothing here to opt out of. No signal you send needs interpreting by us, because we run no tracking to disable.

Updates to this policy

If the site ever needed a cookie — for a genuine preference, for example — this page would say so before it was introduced, name the cookie, explain what it holds and how long it lasts, and the date above would change. Questions to [email protected] or via the contact page.
