Summary

We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind on this website. We set no cookies. We do not know who visits, how many of you there are, or which pages you read. The only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to put in an email to us.

Information we collect

• Correspondence. If you email us, we hold your address, your message and our reply for as long as the matter is open.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary technical request data, which typically includes an IP address, a timestamp and the page requested. These logs are generated by the host for security and reliability, are not linked to any identity by us, and are not used for analysis or profiling.

That is the complete list. There is no account system, no newsletter, no comment section, no contact form, no upload facility and no payment processing anywhere on this site.

What we do not collect

• No analytics or measurement data — no page-view counters, heat maps, session recording or attribution.
• No advertising identifiers, conversion pixels or remarketing audiences.
• No behavioural profiles, interest categories or inferred characteristics.
• No location data beyond whatever an IP address implies in a host log.
• No payment details, because nothing here can be bought.
• No gambling-related data of any kind, because we provide no gambling services.

Why we hold what we hold

To read and answer your message, and to keep a record of a correction until it has been made. Host logs exist so that the site stays available and abuse can be investigated. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a website and in replying to people who write to us; there is no marketing purpose anywhere in this policy.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information. No advertising network, data broker, analytics vendor or social platform receives anything from this site. Two categories of supplier necessarily see data in the course of their work: our hosting provider, which serves the pages, and our email provider, which carries messages. Each acts under its own contractual and legal obligations. Beyond that, we would disclose information only if compelled by a valid legal process, and we would tell you unless prohibited from doing so.

Retention

• Email correspondence: until the matter is closed, and in any event no longer than twelve months.
• Correction records: kept as a dated note where a published page was changed.
• Host logs: retained on our provider's short technical cycle and then overwritten.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to our holding it. Because the only material we control is email correspondence, a deletion request is usually satisfied within a day. Write to [email protected]. If our response does not satisfy you, you may complain to the privacy regulator in your province or country — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner or its provincial equivalent.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies at all and writes nothing to your browser's storage. The cookie notice at the foot of the page is dismissed by a purely visual mechanism that saves nothing, which is why it may reappear when you open another page. The cookie policy explains this in more detail.

External content

The pages load no external fonts, scripts, images, videos, maps or embeds. Everything is served from this domain, so no third party learns that you visited us. We link to nobody's booking system and to no gambling operator.

Children

This site is written for adults planning travel and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly hold information about a child. Where areas with a minimum age are mentioned in a review, the applicable age in Canada is 18 or 19 depending on the province.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will change the date at the top. If a change ever meant we began collecting something new — which we have no plan to do — it would be described here in the same plain terms as the rest of the page.
